Denotation: The DPS has a women at her workplace, with her feet up, using a wide shot gettin her whole body and her enviroment which is music orientated, relating to the genre of music the magazine is portraying.Conotation: The subjects image is taking up most space of the DPS which is overlaped by the writing. She looks like a very fashionable successful artist, by the way she is presented, as she is dressed modernly looking unique and making a statement. Her strong and serious facial expression could suggest she is hardworking and serious about her career.

The subject is very feminine, wearing heels which is fashionable. However in the opposing image the subject is not dressed, using her hair to cover her self this is very provocative also bringing a different aspect to the magazine
NVC
The subject is not making direct eye contact with the camera, she looks as though she is in deep thought, bringing not only bringing creativity but inspiration to the magazine.
Lighting
Mid-key lighting is used to set a very natural atmosphere. The lighting is inbetween as it is in a music studio the natural light is made the most of, used to create a very calm and creative atmosphere.
Setting:
The subject is set in a music studio, this is where she is seen to be almost at home in her comfort zone, making music.
props:
The subject is holding a pen and paper, this shows she is creating something new bringing inspiration to the magazine.

Main image: The main image is of the singer Shakira, it is the main bolt of the DPS and creates a very modern contempory look.
